I shot this on a sheet of white paper. I simply sprayed a bit of colored water out of the end of the syringe and then pushed out a drop until it suspended on the tip of the needle.

I, accidently under my husband's user name, (I forgot to sign in and my husband hadn't signed out) asked in a user forum about copy/pasting onto a black background and was informed that it would be illegal, but was instructed by graphicfunk - one of the true masters of the site - on how to do it legally using curves. I am forever indebted to him (and many others on this site).

I dodged the background and then selected it with the magicwand tool. I then adjusted the curves until the background was black. I then burned and smoothed the edges of the syringe and colored water to make them blend in with the background. I then dodged the highlighted areas and burned the shadows until the image stood out against the black background.

Incredible vision to create this moving image. I think it may have scored lower due to its impact being the emotional rather than the mechanical. I will go with this any day.

Blood.... syringe... no way out. Something about suicide? I don't know, I like the image though. 9

Hmmm, bold statement. Strong image. A little too dark, I think. It is hard to make out detail, that is either a knife or a syringe, hard to tell. An interesting composition though.

An excellent illustration, in composition and colour, however I think a bolder in your face brighter story telling is in order for this nasty subject.

Love it! Wish the syringe had more detail, though. Not enough of it is there, imo. The photo's got pop, though! 10

Aha! A perfect example of the theme! The dripping blood is perfect, looks real. I like the drip just being oozed out of the needle! And of course the frame is very effective.

Would look great on an album cover or campaign poster. Unique image shot and presented beautifully. The edges look bit odd but still the image does not loose the impact from that.

Kind of morbid, but well done. It jolted me a bit when I first looked at the photo. The off balance layout feeds the feeling that something is wrong here. Even though I felt disturbed viewing the photograph, I think it is excellent.
