Thanks for your votes and comments. I guess this didn't fly very well with the voters probably because it wasn't obviously mechanical. The title is in reference to the 1000m water resistance, and I think was not the best choice. :-)

Would have probably preferred a shot of the inside mechanisms but this is a nice shot anyway, no reflection to really speak up and nice detail.

hm, is this a wind-up watch?
nice lighting. photography of watches/jewelry/other small metallic objects is notoriously difficult.

Nice title. You admit that you chose a common theme, however your watch picture doesn't show any mechanics of the watch! Thus, it doesn't really meet the challenge. 4.
