nice, sharp image with a strong composition. the hand helps tell the story, and the bw works well. what i like most is the diagonal balance between the tree and the sky, split by the umbrella and arm. if you intended that, i would say "great job!" if you got lucky, then know that is what makes the image, and that is the type of thing to keep your eye out for when shooting. congrats on your top 30! |

Thankyou everyone for all your comments. This result surprised me as it was a last minute thought literally and I know I could have done a lot better with more time.......Like some users suggested, I may not have had the arm in there at all ! Top 30 is great for me as I have only just started at DPC ! |

Brilliant! It shows a strong gust of wind (whether it was faked or not)

Very crisp. An interesting shot. It is an image of contrasts that makes me think- Why is this guy carrying a girly looking zebra umbrella? Ok, so a zebra umbrella isn't necessarily girly, but since it isn't raining this must be a parasol, not an umbrella and that definitely makes it girly! :) This is a fun shot. Thank you! |

Very nice shot. I would have given this an 8 or possibly a 9 if it were in color. 7 |

I'm not too sure the Black and White really works here. I think the color version may have looked just as good, if not better. |

I'm not big on borders and this one is perticularly distracting. The solid black of the border minimizes the impact of the blacks on the umbrella. |

lovely capture! I hope you didn't have to go through too many umbrellas to get this one right :) |

funny but wouldn't the leaves on the palm be blowing in the direction the umbrella is flying? :-) |

This photo suffers from ambiguity. The arm really looks, to me, as if it is throwing the umbrella. It could be interpreted as a gesture of dismay for losing it, as well. Aside from that, I just feel this is too dark on the whole. |

I like this, but I think it would have been more stunning in color. 6 |
