 Light painting portait using a black fiber optic brush with various screw on colored filters as well as the unicorn plexi brush.

For those wondering how this was created.

I used the following items from Light Painting Brushes:

- Universal Connector
- Unicorn Plexiglass
- Black Fiber Optic
- Clear, Blue, Purple, Peach Screw on Color Filters

My inspiration for this technique was from this tutorial as well as this one.

For the girl standing I used the black fiber optic brush with the peach screw on color filter. On the head I also used the black fiber optic brush but this time with the clear screw on color filter. I cut up pieces of red, yellow, and orange photo gels and put them in the clear filter. This gives a color that looks like fire and in this case I like it better than just using a red filter. The object in her hand was done with the unicorn plexiglass brush, blue and purple screw on filter. I like the color from combining those two vs using either of them separately.

My peach filter has some glue or something on it. Whatever is on it will clean off but I like how it adds a purplish color along with the peach and I like how it looks. So the goop on the filter is going to stay. I may order another peach one so I can have the single color.

I only got my light painting brushes a few weeks ago and this is a very early experimentation and not what I saw in my mind before starting. I had an idea that I know would have looked much better but I was heading out of town and didn't have time to gather everything and do the photo. Hoping to give it a try really soon.

I am impressed by your idea and technique but the result for me is too messy still to put it in my top 3. I think I would have preferred a more unidirectional and steady tracing (if at all possible with your light source). I wonder how you got the girls to stand still so precisely while they were being traced by the light source. I like it how you used different colours for each of the girls and the blue for the object (I though she was doing her hair until I saw your title).
