This is a stretch, and it wasn't taken with this challenge in mind. It is actually one of the ones I took at the same time I took my Impressionism picture, so there is lotion on the UV filter causing that wild lens flare.

My thoughts are this -- All men were once little boys. The little boy is in sharper focus than the man, so what he is to become isn't quite known yet. Back lit by the sun.

Cropped, color adjustment (hue shift, maybe?), contrast adjustment, USM, resized.

This a wonderful photo with lots of feeling.

For me it is more about the mans sadness, as I see the boy behind the man with his head hanging down and the man looking out across the water away from the boy.

There's no interaction between the two, and it feels like the boy is waiting patiently behind him for attention or acknowledgment.

I realise this is a completely different interpretation than others are seeing, but that's the beauty of this sort of image!

Congratulations on your 14th placing. The strength of father and son images goes way back, but you have pulled off another intriguing effect.

Nice shot but the glare effect from the water takes away from the picture a little bit. <8>

This is a good example of a shot where emotion overrules technical perfection. In my top 10.

Nice photograph, I like your use of duotone it gives this photograph emotion. The sunrays are a nice touch and I also believe the noise in the picture is appropriate. Good backlighting and focus.

Very nostalgic feel to this photograph. I think the reflections off the water add a nice glow and effective silhouette to the foreground subjects. The sky is interesting as are the forested hills in the backdrop. Overall I think this is my favorite of the bunch. 10
