 My Daughter's viola. I printed out some sheet music from the web and placed the viola on a small stand to raise it 2" above the music to accentuate the shadows.
I metered off the viola and compensated by + 1 2/3 stops to retain the exposure of the viola and the shadows and to intentionally blow out the rest.
Post processing comprised of some curves adjustment, teeny bit of burning in the shadows, lowered the saturation by about 20% and sharpened.

Very near perfect. To just really nit-pik, wish the bottom of the instrument cleared the bottom border. Superbly classic image.

I think the crop is a bit too tight at the bottom and on the right, but otherwise this is by far the best in the challenge.

Neat display with the sheet music. like the angle and dof. Would have liked a litlle less crop to keep the violin completely in frame.

Excellent! My top pic of the bunch this round. The only thing I don't really like are the white stripes up on the neck, but I doubt you put them there :-)
