I like the grain - goes with the apparel and hair. I want less shadow on the eyes. The centered position goes with the expression somehow. Background is nicely blurred but still distracting. Seven from me. Guessing 6.

I like the strong, centered composition but I think this could be more engaging if the background were closer to being in focus to better define her environment and place in it. Or maybe if there were better on her eyes for a stronger portrait. My guess for the score: 5.7.

Nice portrait although a little creepy with the B&W and the models stare. (Not trying to offend, just what I see.)

I'll agree with your score of 6.2 this is a very nice example of a natural light portrait with good definition and appropriate side lighting on her face, the natural light look is likely coming from a strobe its just a wee bit high to be a real window unless its a church, which I doubt with the fireplace. the film grain works on the back ground and dress but I find it a little harsh on her face , especially on the dark side where it is starting to look blotchy. I will vote seven. Good luck with this

I think you overestimated the score. voters don't like noise for such a straightforward picture. I like all the OOF shapes in the background and her spooky eyes, so six from me. 5.7

I didn't care for this at first, but that eye-contact is forging a connection - a somewhat unnerving connection. Bumping up to seven and predicting 6.75

doesn't strike me as 6+ (honestly)
subject is clearly engaging, but image is distracting, dress seems to draw life from the image... 5.75

I like the image, although I'm not sure I loved the visible noise - I'm just not sure I understand what that noise added to the image. The subject's eyes seemed a little soft to me but that might have been the noise? I did like the lighting and the black and white.

I like it. If theyhad "match.com" or facebook in the era of Little House on the Prairie, this would be a great profile pic.

Why so serious!!!

I like the centred crop, some people like to disagree, but that's nonsense!
The grain or noise is a bonus which I always like but a lot don't so maybe I'm thinking you might get lower for that reason. Maybe around 5.856

I gave this a 5, black and white is working reminds me of the adams family clan.. around the eyes gives a really dark gothic look to this photo, hate guessing because I never know if it was to be like that on purpose or if there was something else going on.,.. Lighting is good as well, I can see DPC not being nice and giving a 4.5

Looks like a still from a Kubrick film. A Mona Lisa meets PJ Harvey meets Katy Perry gaze that becomes more about the viewer than the subject. The background is a stage after the final cut. The time is now. Will she kill or kiss or tell you a deep secret? Although, my score is higher, This will go over well and DPC will deem it a 6.39

This looks like something out of a movie! I'm not fond of the crop at her elbow joints but I love the old world feeling of the shot. I don't necessarily think the dpc crowd will fully appreciate this image. 6.12
