Greetings from the Critique Club!

Someone really meant it when they said they had a house on the water, didn't they? :-) I love the tones here, the spectrum of blues is fantastic. Strong focal point, even though centred composition isn't my favourite, but some like the symmetry as evinced in the comments. I do agree that shooting with a smaller aperture would have given a much cleaner appearance here. That and some saturation in post to pop the blues without going too heavy handed would have helped greatly.

Hope this helps

Thanks for those helpful comments :) Actually, this shot was taken with an iPhone 5 because I had nothing else at hand at this moment and I am a little disappointed about the quality, it looked better on the phone screen :( Too bad I didn't use it for this week's challenge "Camera Phone Free Study III". Anyway, still a better picture than the previous one :) I'll be back!

This is just such a gorgeous picture. A perfect retreat.

This shot could of challenged the best shots in the challenge with a few minor adjustments. The sky could of been more interesting, and the water up front could of used a higher aperture causing a crisp clean look. All in all, you could probably still use some simple techniques in photoshop to enhance this a little. That said, I still think you met the challenge head on, and got a great shot, so I ranked it pretty high. It would just be really hard to stand this beside the best shots in the challenge.
