Very quick photo-shoot with my youngest daughter, speedy processing, and then submit. The title comes from another session I did with her two years ago.
"The Story of Ida":
Thank you so much!!
ETA about the DQ: The background was not removed as per the DQ, just blurred. Below is the original, you can still see the background in the submitted image....just with a layer of Gaussian blur over it. Site Council agreed that to much blur was used, even though I can still see the background (both the lines of the cabinet and the blanket near her lower left shoulder). Don't agree with the DQ, but it is what it is.
This is a case of obscuring vs. obliterating. Obscuring is tolerated and obliterating is not.
Here is another example of what is accepted vs. what is not accepted.
The first one would have been legal, and the second one was DQ'd:

I completely agree with all the post DQ comments. Especially the one about the editing - well done on that! |

Can't say much about the DQ but I will say that editing is beautiful! You really pulled out a lot of emotion in your entry. |

Congratulations on the blue ribbon. Great portrait - beautifully lit and composed. I love the way the green scarf matches the model's eyes. |

I like how it comes in from the bottom left out of the "nothing" into sharp focus at the prime focal point of the eye- and the fringes seem to be purple, quite complementary. |
