Not to pick nits, but "The Thousand Nights and a Night" isn't a novel, it's a collection of stories woven together.
That said, clearly the image IS from the Middle East and it IS night, and it's nicely put together technically. Looks like a magical place. 6 from me. |

| It sure is surely taken "somewhere over there", but it's a postcard, albeit a good one. In the context of DPC and this particular challenge it presents no real interest to me. It's a shoehorn. 5 for effort |

| 7...excellent exposure and definitely a sense of place. As far as telling me something of the novel, I see only a nod to the title. It is a very well crafted image though. |

| Not sure I see the connection to the story, outside of architecture. I like the reflection on the water and the subtle ripples, and the just after sundown blue really looks nice. Would have rated higher in a different challenge. 6 |

| Good image, depicts an Arab environment. Dubai could be a nice place for some but me it look unreal and quite soulless in the modern areas, including the one depicted. My point of view. I rate it 6 for technicality |

| The setting may suit the title well, but it doesn't have much story to tell. In a night photography challenge, I would have rated it much higher. 6 for now. |

| I like the imagery of the light reflections looking like sword blades and the colours. A little too modern a scene for my concepts of old Arabia, but that says more about me. Well executed night shot all the same.5. |

I can see how this might be viewed as the title given. But there's something off, I can't quite figure out.
