Yes, more than a ceiling.... and will likely get voted down because of it. Honestly, I tried doing just the ceiling. But found all my images too boring.
This was taking while visiting a friend of my who works at Calamigos Ranch, truly a wonderland filled with charming details. After dinner at the onsite restaurant, he gave us a tour of the grounds, and showed us the marvels of the ranch. This is the Red Barn, where they have music and dancing. I had him turn on the lights for us and I was instantly charmed by the setting. I felt the ceiling was interesting enough for this challenge.
This is a handheld shot, almost straight out of camera, but I did crop out a bit of the floor to give the ceiling more weight. Dodged a tiny bit and that's it.

I think a great deal of images that showed fantastic ceilings failed to give context, and highlight the true nature of the challenge, the perspective of the photographer, not the subject area being photographed.
I think a great deal of images that showed fantastic ceilings failed to give context, and highlight the true nature of the challenge, the perspective of the photographer, not the subject area being photographed. All that being said, the viewer of this shot is transported to the lonely, exhausted, place, and the context of the ground and empty tables ins needed. The night is over, a touch of nostalgia and melancholy sadness creeps in, as the lights no doubt go out on what was the night sky of the party, the viewer will soon step out into the true dark, and perhaps just as dreamy, evening sky.
Homely, traditional, country with little visible distortion and obviously weighted to ceiling, but yes, not just one or the other and yet the blue ribbon winner was clearly a ceiling and floor image with more emphasis on the MiB.
Of late I look more at the commenter Avg (commenters) than the Avg (participants) where you achieved a 7. I still cannot for the life of me understand the partisan nature of voting at DPC. There were so many exceptional ceiling images, especially in places of worship that "floundered". Had I entered a floor and ceiling in one it would have bombed at 5. So for TPL I will let them team decide on my entries!
