 As I am not a particularly good landscape photographer, I decided that rather than challenge myself to look for an interesting landscape, I'd challenge myself to create one. This is a completely manufactured place. It does not exist anywhere but in my imagination.

Except for the sky, which was shot on another day, all the elements of this image are from Descanso Gardens in Eagle Rock. I used the flood filter to create the "lake".

The observant viewer will know this is a fake because sundials are never placed under anything that will obstruct the sun :-)

I'm amused at how many think the clouds are flames!! It never crossed my mind. The original image had bright pink clouds, but I guess the color shift (and I guess, their shape) makes them appear to be flames.
