 snapped from a car window, I couldn't believe the pose I got. I thought I would end up cropping it, but then I saw this whole composition and thought of the title... "Florida!" this captures so much of what is Florida... tropical and trashy, defiant of Indians and dreams.

I did my usual calculations to b/w, but just ended up blending it to make the original photo seem less washed out... then I put on some yellow photo filters to make it look more washed out again.

some people think I just like blurry messes, but I passed over dozens of blurry messes to pick this one. there is something more than blurry messiness to my aesthetic. this photo, with this title, demanded to be my pick of the month.

the lens was a rental. what a beautiful, expensive lens to brown ribbon with! they don't have the actual lens on the list, so I picked something close. It was actually a Zeiss Distagon 21mm f/2.8 ZE.

You can always ask to add the lens to the list, a very quick procedure here. Looks like you have your brown after the DQ of GeneralE.

There are probably nice people that live there, in nice places. I wouldn't know, but you have captured the idea that I have of the state perfectly.
