I'd love to know how this one was done. While there are "artistic" improvements that could be made, (lighting etc.) I think that this picture should have scored higher in the challenge.

This deserves top marks just for the image that it shows. I've always wanted to experiment with popping balloons and this makes me want to do it more. It's an amazing capture so I suppose you breathed smoke into the balloon (which is what I wanted to try too).

It does however suffer from very poor lighting - killer flash that has removed any artistic vibe in the shot - and dull subject matter (no offence to your female subject). Given the odd nature of the motion stoppage it doesn't do it justice to depict it in a the form of a snapshot.

This is an interesting capture, but not a very asthetically pleasing photo. Maybe a close up of just the balloon?

The picture isn't that hot, but the capture of the balloon is just AMAZING!

Whoa - nice timing. I like the choice of a blue balloon with the blue blouse. Not sure the closed eyes of the model work well, but I can sure understand why she closed them.

Different. I'm always amazed at the creativity of dpc'ers. I would've liked her eyes open, but hey what work it must have been. .-7-

Interesting, how many tries did it take to catch it?

Well done, but as you see a faster flash is needed to capture the balloon without blur.

I really like this but seems small? You got surprisingly rich and clear colours from using a flash.

What is this? Looks like a ballon that was filled with smoke? Very interesting.

good capture on the balloon. but the lighting is all wrong... seems like a flash which makes it too snapshotish

This is a good photograph, Harold Edgerton (the person who first photographed this) would be proud.

outstanding image...sadly the focus is a bit off

Good attempt... contrast and flash make it look unnatural, could be sharper

is that a balloon? did you fill it with anything or is that what is already inside? very interesting and original!

Great idea! Very original. How many ballons did she have to pop for you to get the shot? I would have framed this differently though, with the balloon and knife-wielding arm filling the frame.
