| A simply beautiful shot. I think the corner of the bed should have been left out by moving slightly to the left. Perhaps cropping a little tighter. The lighting is superb, well done. |

| Excellent photo. Two small items ( I know, they are sometimes not within our control) - I would have moved the piece of furniture out of the frame and I would have included the entire door frame for continuity. Small things. Excellent photo. 9. |

| From my viewpoint, this image has lots of higher potential, depending upon how it is printed. Right now it appears to me to have too much bright highlight in the door window. You can't see any detail in the actual curtain except in a couple of places around the edge and at the bottom. If the curtain detail or pattern showed more, and the most extreme bright was toned down to the area where the young girl is peeking around the curtain it might tend to draw the eye more to the main action in the image and cause you to squint less. In other words, less is more. (If only I could do that with my commenting... ) At least that's my opinion. You may have already tried that and discarded it as a possiblity. It IS a nice image. |

I like this photograph and I'm struggeling a bit with what I want to say. It does speak to me but I find myself wondering what she looks like so perhaps a bit of her face would caused me to vote higher.
The large area of over exposed window also made me wonder if it could have been handled differently although I find the detail in the little girls clothing well considered.
The bed or piece of furniture in the forground is a bit intrusive but it does hold your eye in the picture.

| Simple shots are most often the best, this is simply wonderfull, make sure you have a print ready for the end of voting, I can see this on peoples walls. |

| I'm surpised that there haven't been more entries like this one. A great example of backlighting. My suggestion would be to cut down the exposure slightly, and crop in closer on the girl. I see too much door here, and it hurts the piece. Also, the stool adds nothing but distraction. It's a great moment, so keep shooting, and see what you can come up with in the future :) |

| you've told a great story with your title and shot. to make this fine shot a bit better i'd like to see a bit more light on the model's left to pull her away from the background a bit. overall very well done - good use of B&W and i like the blown out windows as they've lost detail and have me focus on the model - the furniture thing anchors the foreground. |

| we got the same title I like this b/w might be a little strong on the lighting and you could straigthen it up some still a nice image. |

| The use of b/w truly enhances this photo - I couldn't even imagine liking it as much in color. Everything about this image speaks to me, the little girl is just perfect, right down to the placement of her feet. It needs to rotated slightly to the left (CCW). I can't really explain why, but this just doesn't speak 'backlighting' to me... regardless of that - excellent photo for emotive and composition. |

| Good image, I like the idea and it does have potential. I would straighten it up a little, the door leaning off to the right like that does the photo no justice and I am not too sure about the object in the lower right hand corner. I probably would have left it out completely or else done something different with it. Maybe a slight different perspective, or perhaps stepped back two steps. Otherwise a good submission (8). |
