Although this worked out very nicely in black and white, I do like the color version just a tad better. The yellows along it's face are really nice! This shot should have placed better! It's wonderful! |

Great shot, gave it a 9. I love the way the light leads to the eye and the clarity of the bird is really nice. |

Great framing, I love the claw/talon (I lack the proper terminology) at the bottom. Excelent shot. Lighting might have been better without the two stripes, but it's easily overlooked. 8 |

mm what is that? coconut ? great bird macro . , i bet they have very expressive personalities. #1 tip that really makes a captivating portrait: try to get a good highlight in the eyes |

I thought the beaks were kind of smooth - this one looks all scratched up or something. I like the good clear detail of the feathers. |

The bright light/shadow combination on the bird bothers me a bit. Otherwise, I think the shot is very nice. The background is not distracting, the focus and clarity are good, and the angle and framing/cropping are good as well. I like the detail you show us in the beak. Since I started my job a couple weeks ago, I have gotten the pleasure of working with a couple of these, and they are really fun to work with. Quite friendly, but don't make them mad!! Good luck in the challenge. |

Good job of keeping all the detail in a difficult subject. Just a couple of small washed out areas on top of the head. Great detail on the beak and the bread. 8 |

Blown out in the two strips of light across the head, but otherwise a great shot. The detail on the beak and feathers is fantastic. Good composition and a good job 'losing' the background too. Well done. |

I think I've seen this guy before and he's still georgeous. I especially love how well you photographed his beak and feet. The detail is awesome. I can almost smell the bread he is eating, too. This is a definite 10. PTL |
