Congrats on where you placed ... I thought it should have done better. I disagree with most here in that the hind leg SHOULD be in the picture -- it helps me know the dog was all curled up. Without that piece of leg, we might think it were all stretched out in the sun or something. But hey, that's my opinion -- clearly only one voice and you have to create a picture that gets most folks to vote favorably. Good luck on your next challenge.

In this instance, I like the "painting" filtered look. Nicely done. Sorry I didn't vote in this challenge, but I certainly would have given you higher marks than the average here.

Nice idea. It seems a bit out of focus.

I'm not one who generally appreciates the various pet photos 'cause mostly it's folks trying to make their pet shot fit the challenge... this is clearly an exception. Nicely done. BW was a good choice. Your angle is most certainly interesting and it is certainly "part" of the dog. Your choice of what to include/exclude is where this photo really shines. I get the whole mood of the dog without the need for having the whole dog in the shot. Best in challenge so far! I'm issuing a rare 10. Congrats and good luck.

Creative, interesting, and uneven. Is the purple being shunned? It's further away and shorter... I still give it a 6.

I gotta ask -- where you inspired at all by my shot like this in an earlier challenge?

Very clever. You could work for an ad company. The photo itself looks just a bit flat though -- a boost to the color saturation would help.

Never mind -- I was looking at the photos on a monitor at work that definitely needs some work. On my home computer, the photo looks great. Sorry I only gave it an 8 -- it deserved more.

Great shot, but to be an olive ad, the can would definitely be the object in focus.

Somehow I'm reminded of the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Nicely done -- and to those that found it offensive -- I think you need to revisit what is truly offensive in this world; and there is plenty to choose from. This, my friend, ain't it though. This is just art. The black was clearly chosen to deemphasize everything but the mouth, hat, and eye (and popsicle of course) -- no other reason.

That being said -- the shot is scary -- just like in the Rocky Horror Picture Show! I SEE LIPS!!!
