Wadaiko/ Japanese Drumsby KoriyamaComment: This is a great image! I love how there are many parallels here... the drummers' hands with the sticks, their postures, the whiteness of the drum tops/bottoms, and the line of shadow cast by the drums' platform. Together, like an arrow, they all point from the left to the right. The blue thing (curtain?) on the top-left side is a little bit distracting, but not overly so. Congratulations on capturing such a lovely and vibrant photograph! |

the way to the gateby arbil14Comment: I like how the rails led my eyes towards the light. Very nicely done, gave me a spooky feeling as if expecting a ghost to show up or something. The picture might be even nicer had the light been a little bit softer, but that's just my opinion. Great work! |

Paper Airplane: A silent flight.by jealbornComment: Having some association with the aviation industry, I thought this was a great photo. Wish it wasn't too grainy/noisy. I think perhaps NeatImaging or softening the picture might help improve it a bit. Also, won't hurt to have the background be more streaky in order to show more movement, in my opinion. Great choice on making it in grayscale, it's very fitting. Good job! |

Silent Drummerby KnotdamomaComment: Too grainy and not very clear. Background is a bit distracting. The picture could be improved tremendously with some good positioning and more contrast. Cute kid, though! :-) Great try. |

Wasting time silently in the libraryby MadMountieComment: I only wish that the picture was a little more centered (rotate a bit to the left). Other than that, very nice! Almost surreal. I like how there are different colors from the top to the bottom. Put a "Be Quiet" text on it and it'd end up being a great poster for libraries. :-) |

Softly Silence Fallsby ScottKComment: Not only silence but calmness, grace, and solitude are what I'm getting from this picture. I love how the borders gradually changes color from the top to the bottom. Beautifully executed! |

Hunger to be heard.by shoeboxComment: Yeowch! This totally creeps me out (but doesn't take points off, though). It delivers an impact and fits the theme perfectly. The picture being in black and white helps reinforce the impact further, I think. Would love to know how this was done. |

Silent Nightby ChadderboxComment: Wow, very nice shot! I'd give it another point if there were fewer lit windows. The dark object on the bottom of the middle window is kind of distracting. But I guess those couldn't be helped. :-) The moon and its position are great, lovely shade of blue! |

Sign Languageby RoosterComment: I had a similar idea involving sign language instead of fingerspelling, but didn't have a chance to do it. This picture gets a 10 from me! I'm deaf (or hearing-impaired for you politically-correct folks), so I'm a bit biased. ;-) Models are wonderfully photogenic and I love the desaturated effect! |
