Essence of Selfby mciComment: I appreciate the artistic endeavor but, in a portrait entitled "Essense of Self", I would have prefered to see at least a little of your eye. The way you have the lighting, your nose is what stands out more than anything and, sorry, but I just dont' see that as illustrating the essense of you. Interesting shot though. |

My Self before a Flash MX teaching sessionby pcManComment: My vote is based solely on technical aspects--not subject, ok? I like how the lighting focuses on your face and the Batman symbol of your shirt, however, I think you might have cropped it so that you were more on the left side of the shot (no reason to waste so much space with the PC behind you). I just think it might have given you, the subject, more attention. |

Yup...this is the real meby camelotnorthComment: Good lighting and capture of the character in your face. I'm impressed that you were able to elminate so much reflection from your glasses. That's the hardest part of taking a photo of anyone who wears them (I know. You rarely see my eyes in most pictures of myself! LOL!). I appreciate that you were able to reduce this problem while taking the picture yourself. |

angby anggComment: It seems a bit out of focus. In this case, I don't think the semi-silhouette concept works too well. I would have liked to see more of your eye. |

In My Handsby JPRComment: When looking at the thumbnail on this shot, I wasn't going to give it a very high score because I didn't care for the lighting and it seems a bit out of focus. However, I do like the kind of funkiness you get from using the mirror. Kind of makes you wonder, what's real and what's a reflection? |

Italian bathroomby GalinaComment: Very romantic. It looks as if it could be from another century. I like the lighting and your choice of keeping it in the tan tones. Much more effective than had you gone black and white or kept it in color. I like the feeling of softness it evokes. |

Bloomby AleciaComment: I very much like the contrast of colors. The lighting on the petals is very effective, bringing out nice detail. It is soft and beautiful. |

Rarified Airby ToddhComment: This would have made a great entry for the magazine cover! Great action shot. I probably would have cropped out the person's head at the bottom or included more of them. Having just the top of their head looks a little off, but otherwise, I like it. |

Bright SUnny Dayby CreativeFlyPhotoComment: Simply beautiful. I'm not a photographer so I'm not the best judge of technical aspects of photography, but I appreciate the art and this is just wonderful to me. |

Wild Sunflowerby autoolComment: HAH! I didn't see the little bee in there at first! I love the lighting on the flower. It really highlights the details of every feather and even the "hair" on the stem stands out against the dark background. I think this is just lovely. |
