Atkinsby crabappl3Comment: Hysterical! I wish there was more definition between the scavanger's head and the morsal upon which he is feasting, but the theme is so funny and entertaining, I gotta give you high marks just for making me giggle. Atkins indeed! LOL |

To love myself again...by EmerauldeComment: I think one of the most important things about photography is being able to capture something to which others can relate. Whether you are one battling weight (as this person is) or you have some other reason not to "love yourself", this photograph truly symbollizes your theme. The photograph itself is technically sound, with the lighthing and black and white tones adding to the emotional response. Very brave photograph. |

Resurrectionby crabappl3Comment: This is such a moving, dramatic photograph. The sun at the bottom is so unusual and the way it pops out of the darkness brings so many thoughts to the imagination. Capturing the birds in flight is the perfect touch. Beautiful. |

Free vehicleby mecfcostaComment: Although a mode of transportation, I just can't stretch my imagination enough to call feet a vehicle. That aside, the picture itself doesn't really do much for me. The cropping is good but the lighting seems a little bland and I don't care for the shadows. |

Death Do We Partby crabappl3Comment: Danny, when you told me this shot was yours after I had finished voting on the challenge, I knew the meaning behind your rings, but I didn't realize the rose was over a year old. How beautifully it preserved. A testament to the everlasting love you and Debby shared. She would love this tribute and be so very proud of you. ~Patty |

Taking showerby GoodEndComment: The concept of still life is photographing an inanimant object. This animal is neither inanimate nor an object. Despite that, even if I did not take that into consideration when voting, the picture is very out of focus, the background does nothing to enhance the focal point. Lighting is only ok but you have a dark background behind his head that should be softened or eliminated. This is little more than a snapshot and not a very good one at that. |

stovoramaby pixelflakeComment: In simple terms, this is just an unappealing shot. The dirty stove and burner may have some artistic significance to you but to me, it just looks like a dirty stove and burner. The shadow off the the left doesn't bother me, in fact I think it works better than if you had left the area completely white. Composition is ok. |

Something blue...by amazoneeaComment: The only thing I don't care for in this photo is the plastic (or vinyl or whatever it is) dropcloth you have under and behind your setting. The glare is distracting and steals away from the glow of the candle (which might look better sharpened). If the "something blue" is intended to be the netting over the plastic, it gets somewhat lost. I do like the concept and the lighting you chose. |

Just For Youby TerryGeeComment: I love this shot. It is sweet and simple. The smooth lines of the wood behind the varied textures of the flower are nice contrasts and I like the soft focus on the figurine behind the sharper image of the flower. The colors are very pleasing and the composition is excellent. I wouldn't change a thing...except the score I originally gave you. I'm upping it to a 10. |

Death Do We Partby crabappl3Comment: I gave this an 8 instead of a 10 only because of the placement of the rings. The concept is so beautiful and moving and the colors, lighting, depth and detail are extraordinary, but there is something about the rings themselves that just doesn't work for me. Perhaps if one ring (the lady's?) were placed on the table it would more dramatically emphasize the parting and remove some of the stiffness of the stage. Of course, if you were to do that, you would need to rework it so that you could identify the table surface, otherwise the ring would just be floating out in space...or, hm, come to think of it, maybe that would have its own implied significance? In any event, this is a beautiful photograph and one of my favorites of the challenge. Good luck. |
