I don't really see this as low-key and I think the crop is a little jarring. You certainly tried to take a difficult photo and make it fit in the challenge, but I think maybe an entirely different approach would have worked better. On a side note, I would like to see the original of this, the colors are very nice.

Do I ever know that feeling. :-) Great photo too. I love the gradual fade from right to left. It leaves me wondering how many shots you had to take to get such a perfect look. Love everything about this. I'm not sure if it's as "textbook" low-key as some of the other entries, but I certainly won't mark you down for it. 10 I'd like to see a full-size version of this. I hate how much detail has to go with DPC's size requirements.

I like the shot. You preserved detail while shooting low-key. I think I would have cropped some more off the top, though, to make it seem a bit more balanced.

This is low-key, but I think a secondary (even if it's faint) light source might have given a bit more detail to her hair. Also, the focus on her face could have been a bit sharper. 5

I'm sure there have been a lot of people commenting that they would have mirrored this in post processing. I certainly won't mark you down for it. I love this as a low-key shot. You captured great detail and I think it's awesome that the camera is the subject and the mechanism for capture. 9
