I said HIDDEN NOT HAUNTED!!!by riderComment: Your angle of capture does make this fit into the challenge (in my opinion), but it also obscures the most interesting part of the photo. Overall, I think it lacks a bit of contrast and the tree distracts from the beauty of the haunted house. 5 |

The Secret Gardenby superclaryComment: I'm not quite sure what to think of this shot. At first glance, it really grabs my attention, but when I examine it closer, it has a bit of an "overprocessed" look to me. 5 |

Magical Sunsetby yjoshiComment: I don't really see this as "fitting" in the challenge. It is beautiful, although it seems the most dramatic part of the sky is barely included. Also, a slightly different crop might have balanced the shot better. Completely cutting out the land OR including more of the land would have made it work better for me. |

Paradise of the Psychedelic Gnomesby AzrifelComment: I love the angle. I'm not sure how this fits in the challenge, though. Also, the highlights came out a bit harsh. If they were toned down a bit, I would have really loved this. 5 |

September night in Iranby AndreKosterComment: I love the colors on the dome. Everything else is a bit bland for me and the rotunda beneath the blue dome is pretty washed out. I'm not sure if that could be solved with anything other than hdr, but that's what stands out to me. Perhaps a longer exposure with a deeper depth of field would have eliminated the blandness of the foreground. 5 |

Under the Pierby ChinabunComment: I always love silhouettes. (I had to spell that 4 times and hope that the red "spell check" line didn't appear underneath. Finally got it right (-: ) I like the composition, but the reflection on the ocean takes the gracefulness away for me. The cool tones are wonderful until they are broken up by the glare. It also leaves a bit of a fringe around the couple. Having said that, I'm not good at silhouettes and I'm not sure exactly how to make that better. Possibly an angle from a bit more left would have helped, although I realize that without the reflection you would lose some drama. (How's that for conflicting myself several times?) Anyway, I like the photo, but am not sure about it's fit in this challenge. |

Our secret surf spot - Baliby bcenuComment: I gave this a 5. Not because it was bad, but to me it doesn't strongly fit in the challenge and it's a bit cluttered for me. I think framing it with the tree and the hedge make it fit a bit better in the challenge, but it clutters it a bit. Also, I'm not sure what the subject is supposed to be. My eye is drawn to the umbrella, but I don't think that was the intention. I think maybe a little bit "cleaner" shot with out as much clutter would have appealed to me more. |

Reflectionsby PixelstateComment: Wow!!! I wish I could vote, (not a member). I can't wait to read your comments when this challenge is over. I want to know where this was taken.
Edit: now I know where it was taken. I'm from the states, but took a trip to England and Scotland 6 or 7 years ago. The most breathtaking beauty I recall from the entire trip was Glen Coe. I loved it during the challenge and I love it even more now. Message edited by author 2009-10-09 14:40:24. |
