A Monumental Night in Washington D.C.by daverx7Comment: Nice shot. I love the effect of the double-burst, the reflection on the water, and the boats out there showing people enjoying it - all add up to a lovely photo! The monument is a nice touch, too, though my attention goes first to the fireworks and their reflection. |

Palermitan fresh fruits.by quarkComment: An interesting photo - it looks as though the camera moved during the slow exposure, though. Maybe use a tripod or something to brace it on such as a table or fencepost? Or just stubbornly take a lot of pictures (since I'm not sure if the area allowed you to set up any kind of bracing). The focus is really good - I would say I can read the signs, but I can only say they're clear enough that they could be read in this case. :) |

. . . About me?by dsidwellComment: I like this photo - it's compositionally strong, attractive, and raises questions. I think I'd have liked it better with a more neutral title, though - it leads the viewer, and I can think of several other questions than just the one given. A lovely photo either way, though. |

How Do You Suppose That Got There?by jodiecostonComment: Very amusing concept - it would definitely raise some questions. Unfortunately, the editing - the blur on the bricks above / around the car mostly - is very distracting. It's also hard to accept that it didn't warp the wall more than that, and where did the knocked-out bricks go, anyway? The shadow looks startlingly real, however.... |

Basilique Notre Dameby friscaComment: Gorgeous. The lighting - the way the whole picture glows without washing out any part of it.... The composition. If I could quantify what I liked about that, I would, but...very well done. |

Blossoms in a Bottleby smellyfish1002Comment: This is very pretty. I like the way the delicate line of the blossoms is balanced by the small upward jut of the table, and the use of negative space to outline the flowers and set them glowing. The careful simplicity of this works really well. |

Busy Bees by jerrftComment: Nice. I like the sense of activity - the way many of the beese are blurred with motion - but also the still focus on a couple near the center who are not moving at this moment. This is a very effective picture, and somewhat unnerving - I'm not sure I want to be as close to the bees as you've brought us. :) Good one! |

boyfriend!by sanandanComment: This is a sweet photo, and a touching one. That little gesture says so much, especially with the title you chose. The composition is gorgeous. The boy being slightly out of focus adds to it, as it both softens him and suggests his focus on the flower and the girl. Good one! |

B for Balloonsby wsooComment: I like the balloons, but the glare of the sun makes them dim and hard to make out details - I think I'd rather have seen them either brighter, or fully as silhouettes. (Given the odds that the breeze would just move them on your whim, I suspect silhouettes would be the more possible of those two....) I wish the upper left balloon didn't slip slightly out of the frame - it draws my eye out of the picture. Except for that less-than-centimeter placement, I like the composition, the curve they form. |
