2 carrotsby pantannaComment: Since they presumably came FROM a garden, not entirely off-topic, but I'd rather have seen them IN the garden. Actually, quite honestly, I'd rather not have seen them at all; naughty vegetables have never done anything for me. |

Secret Gardenby terrentiusComment: I don't know. This more says "in the house near a yard with trees" than "in the garden" to me overall. I don't say I automatically count that off-topic, but I will say it's not a strong a connection to the topic as I'd like.
I do like the shot, however. The shadows indoors opening up onto the sunlight, and the reddish tone giving way to green, are both good details. |

Bakhtiariby sonasandComment: I am not sure what you were going for here, but it doesn't really capture the challenge as far as I'm concerned. |

Cirsium vulgare (Spear Thistle)by robsmithComment: Thistle = flower.
This is a really nice shot, aside from not meeting the topic. I would, in a different challenge, have scored this much higher; I like the way you've caught the seedlings flying off. |

garden: a rich well-cultivated areaby watermelon_junkieComment: Yes, thank you for the definition of garden. A close-up on a leaf doesn't really necessarily indicate one; by emphasizing that definition you've actually hurt yourself here. Why is this picture so small? |

From the Beer Gardenby urbriderComment: I might happily count 'beer garden' -- in the sense of an outdoor place that serves beer and such to their customers -- as a clever interpretation of garden, but a) this looks like it's indoors, what little one can tell and b) I don't know what you were trying to do with the blur, but I don't like it at all. |

Blue Flowersby kblmComment: Flowers as the main subject = off topic. They're interesting flowers, and would make a good subject for some other challenge. |

City Garden.by catpixelComment: It's not that I don't think one can have a garden in a city. It's just that I don't think wild-growing bushes by the river constitute one. It's possible what's across the river does, but as one can't really see it well, that doesn't help much. And if you meant the skyline to be the 'garden', I'm afraid we're going to have to completely disagree on the definition of a garden. |

Summer Stormby sunflowerComment: It's kinda neat in terms of pictures of clouds. However, it doesn't look like it was taken in a garden, let alone does it convey one. |
