j i l t e dby rozComment: Roz, I really do feel on you on your DQ. I thought this was a carcking shot and I loved the PP on the dress that gave it a real luminous glow.
Not a 'pretty' picture, but then despair seldom is, but very sympathetically portrayed. Dramatic without sinking into melodrama
Regardless of the fact that this got DQ's you should be very proud of another great image |

Long Time Masterby BAMartinComment: Hey what are you doing going to a Japanese Festival...you are meant to be in Team America....Was there not a monster truck rally you could have visited
I really like this shot, the crispness of the white, and the great contrast of the 'black' (in parts) belt gives this a real 3d feel to it. Super sharpness on the belt gives it a great textured feel and this works well with the bokeh
Very nice image |

Bridge Over Troubled Watersby docurrieComment: Wonderful image in terms of both the competiton as a shot I could happily look at no matter what the context I saw it in. Great capture and composition in terms of the span of the bridgeand a very nice rippled reflection
The sharpness of the branches compared to the ever so slightly softer bridge work well great picture. Bumping to 9 |

Moonriseby Len ScapComment: OK there may be one moon shot where the subject is slightly brighter and clearer but yours is still the best of its kind (imo) in the competition because of the wonderfully dramatic tree line silhouetted on it and the very clever implied leading diagonal line. Bumping to 9 great shot |

Simplicityby keibo84Comment: Simplicity yes...beauty definitely

Which Way Did He Goby tooterComment: OK, after last weeks pet portraits if you had told me that an image of an animal would be in my top three sor this challenge I would have called you mad....but I would have been wrong.
This is one of the best pet images that I have ever seen, wonderful composition with the dogs back creating a strong leading light
Really strong black and whites and the sunlight on the snow really does work well here
Superb and bumping to 10 |

Fresh Snowby timfythetooComment: Brilliant photo, both in terms of the competition and as an image in its own right. Very powerful blacks and white and wonderfully composed with the leading line of dragged feet in the snow. Bleak yet somehow clean and inspiring. One of my top three in the challenge. Bumping to 10 |

a small dog with a big heartby rozComment: Rozter...I just knew that was Katie from the moment I saw it, both from her now familiar features and also from the PP treatment
You were definitely right in the fact that this shot had more of a protrait feel, although I probably prefer the action ones because whenever I think of Katie I think of her and you bounding along the trail
Cool border really helps bring this shot out |

The Ocean (Houses of the Holy-Track 8)by SouthCoastOr3gonComment: One of my three favourites of the challenge. Beautiful capture of the sea which is half way 'silky water' and half way cloud like but totally awesome
The way the clouds almost rfelect the choppiness of the water is outstanding and the rocks are big enough to provide a wonderful feature yet not too overpowering as to diminish the ocean itself
Outstanding 9 |
