Tea Partyby cordeliawlComment: There's a good idea lurking in here. But you need a more interesting angle on the cup & pot, and to focus on the pot rather than the checkered background. |

Challenge entries are a crap shootby DemonLlamaComment: This must've been a very tricky shot to take. You need that fast shutter speed; but you really don't need that narrow depth of field.
The blur on the right-hand die actually creates a nice sense of motion, though I think it's focus blur rather than speed blur. But a nice effect, nonetheless. |

Gray day by DjabordjaborComment: This is a nice shot. But, given that the main feaute is a sculpture, it seems to be trading strongly on someone else's artwork. A nicely composed shot, though - moody sky. |

Black Pantherby debreezeComment: This is a great topic for this challenge subject, and the strong lighting works well. But I think you could have done a litle more with it.
It's a shame that the paw is clipped off over on the right. Maybe a lower angle, showing more of the cat's facial features, would have worked better. And maybe on a more reflective surface. |

The Lion and the Bumbershootby chaliceComment: Nice.
I would have experimented with making the blacks a little blacker, and maybe altering the angle of the brolly to bring it closer to the bottom left corner. and maybe going quater-face with the lion.
But overall, it works well. |

Lines and Forksby levyj413Comment: Nice, but I don't get the forks thing. An olive, maybe; but forks?
But the refractive swap-over of the black & white through the glass (especially the stem) works well, so I'll add a couple of points for that. |

Outcastby unicumComment: This idea has great potential, but I'm afraid the blurring of the white pieces is waaaay over-done. A shame, 'cos it's nicely composed and framed, and the blue background works well. |

Reflected Oppositionby dunnewoldComment: There will be plenty of chess pieces in this challenge, I'm sure. but this is nicely done.
The perspective of the chess-board is well executed, with a narrow depth of field to make the board blur towards us. The reflections of the pieces works well, too.
I might've tried cropping some off the top, and maybe reframing to make for one-third/two-third split of back vs white, rather than three-quarters/one quarter. Nitpicking, though - overall it works well. |

Dark Eyesby ColeyComment: Nice portrait shot. I love the detailed texture of the body-paint. and the model's face has just the right "black and white" mood, too. |
