I wonder whether having the red-green boundary run down the middle of the face would have worked better, or if it would have been too symmetrical. also, maybe having the central red & green stripes running directly over the eyes.

I think a narrower DOF would have helped this shot. Did you think about retaining some colour just in the trombone?

lots of potential for playing with different angles and perspectives on the sax with this concept. The angling of the shot is a good idea, but maybe it leaves the instrument itself just a little too central?
