Well this photo marks my best effort to date... I have no idea if it will be my best score...

From camera:
- Clone out minor imperfections
- Desat background somewhat
- Colorbalance
- Sharpen
- Adjust contrast
.........

Post-Challenge: Thanks to all who voted for giving me a new personal high score. There were a lot of good entries in this challenge.

Additional comments-- both the lab coat and stethescope were "props" for this shot: I use neither during my actual work week. However, I took a number of shots without them, and these images didn't communicate the professionalism or idea of "medicine" as well as the one I finally entered.

Actually had a flourescent lamp plugged into the wall behind me, and hanging down if front of my face... it was covered pretty well with the Radiograph. Also ended up using a wet napkin to diffuse the light.

Thanks, Alex. BTW, what you did with "Richmond Hill" in your portfolio is amazing (*along with most all of your other entries... LOL)

Dust off the old stethoscope for this one? =)

Nice, creative entry and well deserved of its place on the first page.

I think this should have placed higher. Very creative.

Nice idea; well composed. The lighting of the x-ray itself works well, but (a very small point) it's a shame it spills out into lighting the human subject as well.

Very creative - Like it a lot.

Good idea and setup, complete with good lighting and accessories. It meets the challenge nicely, and it's very striking - brought me back for another look.

Very well lit. Clever idea. It really is a creative way to illustrate your occupation.

Outstanding!!! Great idea and execution! 9

Good

Nice idea. The shot lacks something. Perhaps a bright color background would punch it up, and it might help to eliminate the shadow on the wall. Looks like the lighting was tricky. You must have used a head lamp to backlight the x-ray.
12/27/2006 12:04:02 AM
I think you needed to pull the model away from the background and lit it. The shadow cast by the forward lighting really detracts from the shot.
12/26/2006 08:31:48 PM
Nice concept, the elements seem to fit fairly nice. Maybe a bit of an angle though so not straight on, but nice all the same.

Comp and clarity are great. Great idea too!

12/24/2006 09:10:23 PM
Very creative. I can see how you needed to place the sthetoscope in the picture to make the subject a doctor, even when radiologists almost never use one.
12/24/2006 08:44:56 PM
Oh this is really cool!!! On my monitor the lab coat is a touch pink, but no marks taken for that.
12/24/2006 07:50:24 PM
Not just the eyes of medicine... it has replaced the physical exam. BTW, who does skull plainfilms anymore anyways? (looks fairly normal to me at this resolution, other than the incidental of the left frontal sinus not being pneumatized)
12/24/2006 07:41:48 PM
awesome, clever and fun..well done...
