By far the most creative piece. Great concept.
Only thing I noticed was the necklace was a tad distracting. (Just to add to your believability - he shouldnt have anything he could "choke" himself with if he were in an instituion. Also the "table" was a tad on the shiny side. But again great piece and I really like the colors used

My biggest issue is not the size of the image as much as the over-active vignette-ing (thats the big black halo in your picture - it almost looks photoshoped in). I do like the concept. the colors are a tad dark and the torch is a bit blown out. I would suggest a longer shutter speed and a lower iso next time. As to your torch being blown out - what you might want to do next time is this: a simple technique called - diffusion - dont quote me on the actual term name so much as the technique.
Here's what you do - its very technical and challenging so pay close attention here.
Put a plastic bag or some wax paper over your flash.
This spreads out the flash so you still get decent lighting without "burning" (thats the area which is pure white).
Granted there are other solutions but if you want a quick, cheap - diy(do-it-yourself) fix. This will help.

I think that all the comments regarding "I wish there were fire in this one". Be a little more creative people! What is the sun but a giant FIREball. The best way put so far was if it fails - it fails with grace. After seeing the results - I see why the winners won - but I for one think this meets the challenge in an abstract non-cut-and-dry sense.

I would have loved to see you play up the fact this flame looks like a dress. Just for a creative approach other than - hey I captured some fire. Not sure what other critique I would give than the previous comments about the flatness - your flames appear almost pink

First off great shot ! Love the colors and the vintage appeal.
The only thing I would have liked to see is some bending of her right arm. Sure its "candid". But the pose looks more like an air traffic controler.

not sure whats going on here
the shadow under the red flowering pod needed more light. it currently looks as if this is several images put together with masking in photoshop. I would like to see that cleaned up and along with the halo below and to the right of the red flower pod
