It's a reasonable cat portrait, but there is just nothing about it to make it special. I feel like 99% of the cat pictures I take turn out similar to this. I am not saying that you placed fairly in the rankings, but don't feel like this really deserved a lot more than it got either. With subjects like pets, kids, things we really care about, it's easier to think that the picture we took is better than the photo really is, because we have such an emotional attachment to the subject itself. Perhaps this is the case here. Again, I want to say its a good shot, there is just nothing to make it great.

looks eerie and creepy! Cool approach and tones, especially on him. I actually think the bar with graffiti in the foreground is to distracting though. I honestly would lose that!

Wow, poor girl. What a disgusting place! I want to see a bit more of her face though, while still keeping the atmosphere. Not that I dock for the title, but I would think that this girl is too burdened for her childhood to be called carefree.

Wow, what an iteresting place! Obviously the place isnt a mansion, but I dont know that it says poverty either. I love the background with the city, just such a mix of old and new. Good shot, just needs more "poverty" to me
