Too Literalby rossbillyComment: man, now I want reeses pieces!
awesome photo, maybe you should have jacked the sharpening up past normal levels to a DPC level, haha, and I'd like to see it a little brighter
other than that, I think you did an awesome job not getting any blown highlights or bright reflections in a basic editing challenge, and the green background looks really good with the colored candy and gray bits |

Battery in Perspectiveby EducatedSavageComment: hmm, I'm not familiar with the program you're using, but it looks like you figured out the sizing thing.
as for the photo, I think it would have faired better if you had put the focus on the front side end of the closest battery instead of the left-side one. DPC likes a really sharp focus point, maybe try a sharpening tool.
another suggestion I might have for you would be to use a colored piece of paper as a background to give this shot more interest.
I really like the shallow depth of field and the composition that you used; this was a hard challenge to do for your first time
As a general piece of advice for a newbie, DPC seems to like very colorful, very sharp images...
Anyhow, a 4.6 is not a bad score for your first shot, this is a really tough crowd and if you take everything here with a grain of salt, you'll be a pro in no time! |

Nude Study 4by MakkaComment: just ran across this & I realize you've moved on from this photo and probably don't want to mess with it again, but... I'd have to say I didn't notice the hair thing or the reflection of her face as being a problem. maybe her face could be lightened to match her body and the horizon straightened out just a tad (and next time, no shoulder blocking face).
that said, I think her bare feet and the jeans sliding off her butt are very sexy, I love your colors and beautiful setup with the lighting, plexi and background... looks like a magazine ad |
