 Thanks everyone for all the comments and votes, unfortunetly my traveling computer died a few days ago, and with it I lost the original to this photo plus many many more :(. I was going to DQ early but first I wanted to try and recover the file. I have tryed many things but it looks like the hard drive is completely dead.

This is the view from our house in Ecuador, the mountain is called Cotacachi and its around 16,000ft high.

Not really a mountain, I think. More like a volcano. The additional lightning makes for drama, but it looks faux. Not that it matters since the challenge was under Expert rules... I wondered why this photo had disappeared... now I know. (Edited for bad spelling ;-)

Congrats on top 5 Justin. It would be nice to see some data on this. We don't know ISO, aperture, shutter speed, or any processing details, and that is very frustrating. In particular, is the lightning added to the shot?

This shot is very nice but I gotta say, that lightning looks really out of place and I actually knocked this shot down a point for it, this shot would have been stronger without it. That´s it though, the rest of the shot I really like and I voted an 8, great job.

Amazing atmosphere! I don't much care for the lighting up right... it feels a bit fake (maybe it should light up the surrounding area?), but I love the picture!

Wonderful shot, love the range of terrain, from the fields to the mountain top. The lightning is a nice touch, but it's really the cloud bands that kick the shot up the most. Very well done. 10

Great shot, what timing.
Has a real impace, especially with the small fields and village at the bottom.
Possibly a little heavy handed with the burn turn.

Really stunning with the navy tones. What does it for me as far as the it factor though is the lighting. Not overpowering but just there as a little bit of added oomph. Lovely. 8

i think this is a nice photo. a little to over-processed maybe. looks a little smudged. some noise for my taste :). the place dont look to harsh for me though, i think it loooks like a nice place to stay.

Gorgeous!! One of my top picks. Love the contrast and the fluffy mean clouds but you know it's all about the lightning baby! Awesome job. Back to bump you up to 9.
