I think what would really improve this photography is a touch of lighting on the subject. Right now, the light is quite flat, which does not add any definition to your santa. Try playing with some lights (even just desklamps) and move them around to see how it changes the quality and mood of your photo.

Great concept here. It would be nice to have some fill on the subjects face. Its hard to focs n him at all with so little light. Maybe a flash, or even a desklamp could really draw some interest to the face
