La Primevère (Primrose)by joannsComment: An elegant well composed photo. The white petal exposure and color are perfect. The border is well done. I like the reflected flowers and the feeling of a suspended in mid air vase. The gentle lightingon the vase is flattering to the delicate tones. Good job. |

This flash again! I can't see anything!by pikytoComment: A most original candid pet shot. The schnoz and pink tongue just crack me up. Totoally luv the fuzzy doo. Good DOF and colours. Nice tight shot makes the moment speak even louder. Highlights have life without the standard flash washout, very good. Overall wonderful shot. |

The Early Birdby jitamsComment: Wow! What a spectacular moment. One in a million to get that opened beak on CCD.The freeform acrobatics add real vibrancy to this image. The birds overlap a touch, but then I won't ask you to reshoot another 1000 frames for punishment either. The brilliant blue and white outstetched wings exemplify freedom. Should be framed on my wall as well as yours. Wonderful. |

A Cliché Perspective?by r_sandlerComment: And the DPC winner gets two tickets to Hawaii. Man do I pity your front yard buddy. Cryogenics for brass monkeys or what. I am in love with the stark brutal bite of this shot. The fuzzy clouds and disolving poles are spectacular. Personally I would like to trash the shadow near the bottom frame to accentuate the floaty feel. Frozen drool over the poles and the wires. A totally brilliant show. |

Cute as a Bugs Earby SonifoComment: This is a technically incredible shot from the standpoint of the serious DOF. The tones are perfect and certainly speak well in contrast to the background. The nose tip runs into the cheekline to the diappointment of ultra-perfectionists. But this is real life not a statue. So I like it even with the cute chin dribble. I love the wavy hairdo and those ever so delicate highlights. A truly professional job. |

Busy Beeby HoogieComment: Sweet success for this winning photo. Perfect bug and bud focus. The background is blurred well with no annoying harsh highlights. Two basic colors tightens up the theme of your image and adds well to the bright mood of your shot. A first class macro shot that adds real pizzaz to those typical static flower shots. So when do you start on the payroll for National Geographic? |

liquefied squareby quicksand84Comment: A very clever idea. Just a few simple tones to clearly state your message. The combination of fork, ice cube and water drop are brilliant. Those three things alone with a plain simple background would yield even a more powerful image for me ( just a wee suggestion ). The highlights in the glass are strong but necesarry for your choice of lighting. The metal feel of the fork is very good. Just the right balance of shadow and highlights. A touch more space around the fork tines would be another smallish request. Otherwise a very good shot. |

Squared Awayby RiderGalComment: A good rural flavoured shot with all of the necessary elements tucked beautifully in a tight frame. The gentle grey tones broken up by the foreground bush are great. Character that you can sink your teeth into in this image. The pitch black has a real visual punch. Some folks may banter for a touch of more elbow room around the window. A minor personal quibble. A good solid image. |

Where square people live.by Harz_JoergComment: A catchy title for a good image. Masterful rendition of tonal range. Detail in the shadows where it counts. Lively highlights without the glare. Lovely gentle grays in the sky. I really like the trunk squiggle beneath the big square. It breaks up the vertical lines very nicely. Superior talent in the B&W dept is evident. |

A Square Mealby GolferDDSComment: Boy this was certainly a popular theme. First of all I must say that your choice of color scheme is premium. The tender blues and burgundy with that kiss of yellow is very comfortable on the peepers. The homey wood table is also a lovely touch. There are some minor issues to quibble over such as hot highlights on the tea packages and blue serving dish. But nothing to fret over. I also like the nice glow on the silver utensils. Often they drown away in gray shadows. A pleasing image. |
