A wonderful macro shot. Good lighting. I would love to see the same pic but 1 stop underexposed to compare. You have decided to go for shallow depth of field and you have chosen well. The blue bottle and plate complements the detail of the flower and it shouldn't distract it. And this is what you have achieved here. Overall 8. (Might come back for a 9).

I trust that you are a star (or sky?) watcher. And I trust you that the little white glow is planet Venus. Unfortunately, the shot doesn't hold the viewer's attention at all. We just take your word for it. However, in terms of technicality, your shot is a decent capture. There is no blurring and I don't see a major distortion anywhere, so I guess you were either very still in capturing this shot or you used a tripod. And since it's dawn, try to capture that crimsony light too with a touch of the horizon somewhere at the bottom of the frame so that the viewer can relate to the objects and depth of the shot. Overall. 5.

A very good effort in taking a shot that does not follow the theme completely but yet tries to invoke the viewer mind that theme lies in the shot somewhere. And we clearly see that in the title bars of these monopoly cards. It's been years since I've played that game, so I cannot give you a judgement on the concept of shot, but in terms of technicality and composition, it is very good. The DOF is only a fraction off, but the viewer can still read the prints. However, shouldn't all the blue cards be present in this shot if we were to monopolize the game? Overall 8.

While you have a good idea and well executed capture, the shot lacks the flare to keep the viewer's attention. The single light source comes from the top and fails to define a clear contour of the glass itself. Instead it blends in with the background and renders the sparkling bubbles uninteresting. The green reflection of light at the neck of the glass is annoying as it keeps drawing the viewer's eyes away from the cherries and the bubbles, which I think was your intention of showing the most. Suggestion: Macro shot of the cherries, off-centred, while including some of the bubbles fizzing up, would have made this a more interesting capture. 6
Feeling Blue

This is almost a documentary shot. However, it doesn't document nor tell a story strong enough to let the viewer share this gentleman's "blueness". He doesn't seem to look sad or down. To my eyes, he looks tired. Also, you have included the tree in the background which covers almost 50% of your shot. Several suggestion: 1. A close-up shot on the gentleman's face. The gentleman's looks and expression can tell a thousand stories. 2. If the person is sitting down, include his feet. By the look of his attire, his shoes would also tell a different story. 3. If you follow n° 2, vertical crop the shot and disregard (or blur) the background. Nonetheless, you have a good eye in spotting the moment and your subject, only let down by a few technicalities. 5.

A nice study of depth and symetry. I like the words on the wall which you've included in this shot which reminds the viewer of a unrequited love, and how we sometimes find ourselves depressed and "tunnelled in". However, the shot has been slightly let down by the oversaturation of blue, which I think you played around with the blue level. IMO, you could have left the shot completely in color (depending how high the contrast was), while evoking the "blueness" in the viewer's mind. 7

Your concept is nice. However, it lacks a spark somewhere. I would have prefered that the "eye brush" were also vertical but leaning slightly away from the other brushes, then vertically crop the shot for more eye impact. Your background distracts the viewer completely. Try a complete white or black background in order to isolate the subject that you intend to show. 6

This could have been a wonderful journalistic shot. Somehow, it suffered from high contrasts and maybe over-sharpening effects. But you have a good eye in capturing the moment.

wished you had a better focus and faster shutter speed. this shot could easily tell a different story than the title had indicated.
