Hot air fruitsby mitalapoComment: I really don't understand why this didn't score higher. I didn't vote this challenge but it'd have had an 8 or 9 from me easy. Technically excellent (look at the texture on that orange and the careful control of the lighting!), aesthetically pleasing, creative even to the letter of the challenge description: you placed your camera on the table (upside-down) and definitely got a different perspective on some everyday objects! I love this. Great job. A 5.38 is nothing to be sad about, but I'm amazed that this isn't on the front page. |

Day 6 - He's a big boy now! :)by taljComment: What a great story! That's often more important than technicals. :) This is the kind of thing I was hoping to do with this side challenge -- little pieces of our lives shared with each other. Thank you. :) |

Primped & Permedby spiritualspatulaComment: I LOVE these birds. The Fresno zoo has them in an ordinary aviary walk-through cage covered with ivy, but the way the light is in the afternoon, it pours in through a gap near the roof and lights up their feathery heads and there's this dark background and augh. Gorgeous. It's like they did it just for photographers.
This is a wonderful image and I can't believe it didn't score even better than it did. |

Desert Fruitby C4PicturesComment: Oh, how interesting; they look like tiny pineapples. Good capture with the sharp spines contrasted against the moist fruit... looking... bits. :) |
