That is SO California. I also like photographing lifeguard stands -- their interesting shapes are always complemented by (of course) lovely beach scenery. I love the colors here -- you're right, the woman in red is a great foil to the vivid blue building.

I actually really like the swirly patterns in the background in this image. It kind of looks like something you'd see on some pretty patterned paper or something. Maybe giftwrap. Or a topo map. :)

There is nothing quite like the exquisite agony of a Lego brick stabbing the bottom of one's bare foot at 2 AM.

Lovely and fun action shot! The bricks suspended in midair are simply sublime.
