When I was a teenager, my obsession (briefly) was a CB radio. I somehow convinced my dad to buy me this scary looking "power" microphone that was tall and shiny and very important looking. I haven't touched a CB in decades, but I still have the mic. It's basically useless now, but it still looks really cool. It gave me a personal best two years in the Textures challenge and even though I've done much better since, I still really like the picture.

What a memory this brings back. I was quite young when the CB thing was a rage and I remember those big old microphones quite well. Good job on what appears to be selective desat.

I love what you did with this. I can see why it's done so well for you. But I can't help but wonder if you also have his old set of binocculars you used at those Minor League games?

oh, what a very cool object. I LOVE your macro of it -- great job! (My husband was also a CB freak, but he didn't have an awesome mic like this one.)

What a great looking microphone. Funny how there are reflections in the screwhead but not in the surrounding flat metal. Nice composition and conversion to b&w.
