At first glance the photo didn't attrackt me, but it's ability to hold the viewer surprised me. The POV is unique, and the clarity of the dog's eyes amazing due to the selective DOF. Great job, and I like the contrast and the nice background.

A close-up that might be too close. There seems to be no dimension to the photo - was a flash used? There are almost no shadows to show us this is a real, living and breathing creature! Cool eyes though.

I really think there needs to be more control over depth of field for this shot. There is so much in the picture, it's too difficult to isolate one subject, and it's definitely too much to be a "simple" shot. I think there is potential in the subject matter, but it has to fill the frame and be presented with an interesting angle.
