Good piece to use for the image, I think there would have been a better place for the light. The main focus of the item is the elephant on the front and I can see that it's textured, but with the light placement you lose all of the texture - maybe bringing it forward a bit at a lower angle would have brought it out more... just my $.02 :)

I would suggest checking the levels, the blacks don't seem pure black (more gray) and the whites in the upper right of the ball are blown out, losing all texture in the ball. I like the light pattern.

This got a real laugh from me - great idea. Only comment I would make is that there is too much background showing. I would have set up a tighter shot or cropped more but well done.

Good idea and I like the photo overall but if this were to be used in newsprint I believe it would come out way to dark to really tell anything about it - for image composition, it's good, but for the challenge I'm not sure it works.

I like the idea but it's taken from so far away that I look at it and say "huh, is *that* what it is." I wouldn't have known the subject without the picture title.
