Let me start off by saying that I like a lot of things you have going on but imho you should tweak a couple of things. I'm going to look at this as a commercial shot, perhaps unfairly. If this were my product, I would want all of the product name visible. I think if you rotated 45° and moved the product up about an inch, it would have shown , not only the whole name and an enticing description (Rich, Chocolate, etc.) but also you would have leading lines to the product name. The name would have been on a more horizontal plane and easier "access" to the consumer. I would like to see you take a little more risk. Risk is the difference between middle of the pack, and head of the pack. I'm looking forward to your next challenge.

I'm confused by your image. The foreground element is in focus, but the shadow cast by that ridge in the background appears to me to have a brow ridge, a "Roman" nose, and a jaw that is gaping in surpriseor joviality. The texture in the mountainside also appears to give it an eye!

I ike your decision to keep things simple with the focus solely on your subject. I think a bit more DOF would help this image, particularly from the tip of the "tongue" to the "teeth". Also I wasn't sure what this photo was about until I read the title. 7

It looks like you've lost some detail in your highlights. Did you meter off of your background? It like you may have.
A little trick when photographing scenes with a lot of white or black is to take a reading off of you palm. If your light skinned open up one stop, dark skinned close down.
