Maybe I'm missing something here (or I'm just too thick to get it), so I'm hoping a further explanation by the photographer will help. Why is the hydrant so overexposed and what is the personification represented here? Inquiring minds want to know...especially somewhat dull minds like mine!

little overexposed there
10/16/2005 01:46:25 PM
Waaay too blown out. And what is being personified here?
10/16/2005 12:17:48 PM
Sorry, this photo is so undefined (overexposed?) that I cannot make anything out of it.
10/16/2005 12:15:42 PM
not quite seeing what you see.
10/16/2005 11:31:22 AM
Very over-exposed. It's unfortunate that I can't get the "feel" of the hydrant from this perspective.

overexposed. no depth of field.
10/15/2005 04:57:51 AM
I'm not really seeing the personification, sorry.
10/14/2005 10:05:51 AM
Ouch. Way too overexposed or done on purpose? If so, to get effect of what?
I'm a bit confused, or maybe my imagination is too shalow.
10/14/2005 09:47:13 AM
I like the idea here, but I think the photo needs more detail.

I find this too blown out to personify anything
10/14/2005 05:45:58 AM
hmm? sorry, I really don't get it.
10/14/2005 04:56:06 AM
Interesting concept image. Not sure where the personification is though.

A bit overprocessed. Really can't make out the details.
10/13/2005 10:46:54 AM
very extreemly overexposed, may be?
10/12/2005 03:24:15 PM
It looks like you've lost some detail in your highlights. Did you meter off of your background? It like you may have.
A little trick when photographing scenes with a lot of white or black is to take a reading off of you palm. If your light skinned open up one stop, dark skinned close down.

Though hydrants DO have personification, this photograph shows no details of the hydrant that would suggest anything human. The foreground is overexposed and the background lacks detail. I would appreciate this more for a different competition but it doesn't really work with the challenge.

Photo is so overexposed I wouldn't have known that was a hydrant, but I bet you've herd that already. I also don't see how this meets the challenge.
10/12/2005 06:50:17 AM
Wow, that over-exposure is very difficult to look at for me.
10/12/2005 06:29:15 AM
Sorry, I think I'm missing how this relates to the challenge.
10/12/2005 06:15:51 AM
photo is entirely oof and do not see the personification at all
10/11/2005 11:51:03 PM
Can't get to the idea :( Blindingly overexposed :(
