A bit of fill flash would have brightened this up nicely so that the grain and knots etc. could be seen more clearly. It might brighten up a bit in Photoshop or whatever editing package you use but then the background will blow out so probably would have been better to go with my first suggestion so that the branch and background were closer to the same exposure.

The whole picture appears to be out of focus. If you had mounted your camera on a tripod and used the timer you would have avoided the camera shake.

The lighting is a bit flat and I would have cropped most of the grass in the foreground off to put more emphasis on the wooden shed
