I wouldn't have known what this was without the title. Might be in the running for a posthumous award though.

Now this is different. Looks kinda like the fog filter from color efex but never seen anyone use it before. I suspect you're not going to get many high votes for this image as the postprocessing isn't in a DPC friendly style. It may well work with a different sort of image, (landscape maybe), but not with this one.

I'm guessing you're highlighting the juxtaposition between the barbed wire and the symbol of the land of the free.

Yes its there but this image doesn't have the visual wow required to do well here at DPC. This site rewards eye candy more so than underlying message and the trick to doing well is being able to combine both.

This looks a very nice scene and well captured too however I'm gonna punish you, (and expect many others will as well), for not submitting a larger image.

It really is a shame that you didn't present an image at the largest allowable dimension to allow us to see more detail.

I see you've tried something different here but I'm not sure that it works. I'm not sure what the subject is and the title doesn't help much either. If wanting to compete, (and do well), in a free challenge then I suggest may a more DPC typical image next time.

Reminds me a bit of Jackos infamous attempt at a brown ribbon. The framing is good, (even though I hate cat images), but what ever processing you did to the image resulted in a most DPC unfriendly image which will no doubt hurst your score here.
