I think swimming photos really require being able to see the swimers arms. If he's doing the butterfly, then capturing the picture when the arms are fully extended to the sides is much more dramatic.

Generally, the majority of a picture should not be taken up by an indeterminate mass (I know it's hair, but it's out of focus and crowding out everything of importance).

I think the player should be on the other side of the photo, given the direction he's looking. All the space behind him doesn't add anything to the picture.

Normally I'd say that a sports photo is lacking without seeing the ball, but this is hilarious. All sound and fury (and grass, I love the flying grass).
