I don't think the shallow depth of field works here.

I don't like that the entire bottom half of the picture doesn't have a purpose. A tighter crop would have been a great improvement.

The street lamp really hurts the picture, especially since it reaches all the way to the main subject. I would have looked for a better angle.

Ironic--a picture of a sunny day but it's still dark.

I like it. 9

Great picture. What would have made it a 9 or 10 for me would have been continuing the theme of mutual completeness. For example, the man's head and neck would be disconnected from his arm by the shadow were it not for her arm and upper torso. Perhaps the area from his shoulder or armpit to his hips so that his legs connect to hers, thus forming one continuous lighted region necessarily composed of both their bodies.

I think her bra is too distracting an element and breaks up the continuity.

A solid 8.

If a drummer drums alone in the woods with no one around to hear him, does he still come in at the wrong time?

This is a very strong photograph--a lone defiant sign of life against an apocalyptic background. 10

A Dylan Thomas Moment (hey, another title idea!): Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Two things that would make this picture better (in my opinion (well, of course it's my opinion... just take this as you will)): (1) The tilt of the phones are distracting, especially being so close to the edge of the photo that it makes a strange angle. (2) Rotate the phones so that they face the negative space so it doesn't seem like a bad crop job.
