Just Openedby TerryGeeComment: Good composition and nicely saturated colors but maybe a little too saturated for some tastes. Score: 7 Courtenay |

Back to Schoolby KimblyComment: Another one of the few pencil submissions for this week. Hope you still have something up your sleeve for next week. I like this one because of the lines on the right and the repeated patterns of the unsharpened pencils which occupy most of the frame. The pencils might be a little too saturated to the point of looking orange. It's pretty good. Score: 6 Courtenay |

Newly Pickedby EizlAwComment: The color cast works pretty well for this image to set the mood it could possibly be a little lighter though. The dominant shadows on the right and the somewhat shallow depth of field also help the photos mood. Good job. Score: 6 Courtenay |

New chance at lifeby notashamdComment: What an adorable expression! This makes me want to go out and get a new puppy. The focus on the face is good and the big eyes don't hurt any either. The flash might be a tad bit too bright but depending on the camera you may not be able to control that. I'm curious about the title though: "New chance at life"? Is there some story behind this puppy? Score: 8 Courtenay |

alien architectby wolfjackComment: This building definitely looks out of place based on its surroundings. It's awkward looking yet photogenic. Nicely framed with a beautiful sky in the background and lots of green balancing out the blue sky and reflections. Good job. Score: 6 Courtenay |

Waiting for a Sunny Dayby alanfreedComment: This is a well composed and well lit subject. Nicely saturated greens. Nice detail and focus. Great job of making detail stand out in a frame full of similar color. Score: 8 Courtenay |

Stopped In It's Tracks by timj351Comment: I really like this photo. It has a nice nature v. technology thing going on with the tall, green grasses and dandelions along with the sky which forecasts an impending storm approaching from the left of the frame all situated around the rusted old tractor filling most of the frame. There's tension and an anticipation of the coming weather which, in the past, has helped give the tractor it's old look so it's more than just a "product shot" of an old tractor. Great timing and great eye. The only thing I would note is the pavement, fence and car on the far right which serves as the only point of distraction. |

Waterfront Home. Needs Workby BigSmilesComment: The structure looks good centered between the light rocks and the dark trees and water. It looks like it is supposed to be there. Nice pic. |

This Old Houseby jerryComment: I realize this is a technical issue but the jpg compression is probably too high because a lot of the sharpness and detail is lost that could have helped with the overall appearance of the photo. Aside from that there are a lot of shadowed areas, maybe too many if you are trying to use the house as the main subject. Plus, so much of the house is hidden by foliage or in shadow. |
