I like also the twinkles on the twisted stem, (caused by refraction within the filter), and there is a rainbowing effect at the edge of the spot caused by refraction from the lens used to focus the white light onto the red background. All well controlled and lit! Nicely photographed, and well done!
Best of luck with the shot! | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 04/11/2006 11:30:02 AM | Absolut Vodkaby jsolsonaComment: Beautifully lit photo of Vodka bottle - can't quite be certain if the light comes from under the bottle, or down the neck, probably the neck, but what the heck - it's a very nice image!
Best of luck with this one! |
| 04/11/2006 11:27:35 AM | Appleby pellemannenComment: Beautiful shot, well lit, nice selective focus, warm colouring. I like the way that the swelling drops magnify the detailed texturing of the apple skin, and I like the softness of the light contrasted with the brightness of the reflections on the bright area of the apple, and how the rounding of the waterdrops cuts off the reflections. I hope you will not mind if I use this for wallpaper. Best of luck with your image. |

The colour fringing shows the distortions in the glass, the refractions of imperfections, the rainbow fringing. Hope you do well with this shot | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 04/11/2006 11:14:14 AM | Starby ReM_FrComment: Now, I like this for all sorts of reasons. I think the choice of colours is very good, the placing of colours along the edges of the stars is cleverly done, it looks like it took ages to achieve. The image is sharp, and well defined.
I am not certain that it is completly refraction of light, but it's brilliant lighting. on the bottom middle where the shadow has produced a green line, there is what could perhaps be refraction, though I suspect it is two shadows from two different lights from the edge to the left, rather than a refraction, but the feeling is as of refraction through a prism, and it's a very nice shot. Well done, hope you do well. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 04/11/2006 11:08:47 AM | the loveby riderComment: Gosh! What an intense red, with a rose tinge to it. Most striking colour.
Personally, I would love to see a touch more detail in the glass and the lettering, but nevertheless, a nice image.
Good luck with your entry | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 04/11/2006 11:06:33 AM | What a Pretty Pitcher! What a Nice Refraction on You!by 777STANComment: Surprising refraction in waterjug! I would have expected it too distorted, but it has just reversed the image and somehow intensified the contrast
I suspect more contrast in the background would be even better, and even if the light was moved so that there was no light reflecting off the surface of the picture you would have an image with a startling result. It has given me the idea to try it myself. I wish you well with the image | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 04/11/2006 11:02:20 AM | Early Spring Treesby Joy MooreComment: I am not able to work out what we are looking at here - it seems to be a reflection of trees, inverted, but then the sort of bulls-eye glass ripples indicate not swirls of water, but refraction through glass, and then the colour seems to be added afterward.
I like the image, but would like it better if I could be sure what I was looking at.
Good luck with the image |
| 04/11/2006 10:59:35 AM | 3 Tines 4by cornettcagComment: I like the enlargement of the fork, the cherry, and the mandarin slice by the curve of the glass. Nice colour contrast with the background. I somehow feel that there could have been more brightness contrast, but it would perhaps have distracted from the richness of the colour. I think you have judged the balance quite well
Good luck with the image | Photographer found comment helpful. |
