Challenge: Refraction of Light (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z3
Location: Sillery, France
Date: Apr 1, 2006
Aperture: f3.2
ISO: 64
Shutter: 1/40
Galleries: Abstract, Macro
Date Uploaded: Apr 2, 2006

I used the reflection and refraction of a ray o light on a CD and next I projected this "rainbow" on an origami.

I only used a bit contrast and neat image for post-processing.

I can understand it's difficult to imagine the refraction, because I haven't shown the way I do it. I will try another shot when there is a challenge about colour...

PS : Sorry GoodEnd, but the only source of light I used is the sun ;)

Now, I like this for all sorts of reasons. I think the choice of colours is very good, the placing of colours along the edges of the stars is cleverly done, it looks like it took ages to achieve. The image is sharp, and well defined.

I am not certain that it is completly refraction of light, but it's brilliant lighting. on the bottom middle where the shadow has produced a green line, there is what could perhaps be refraction, though I suspect it is two shadows from two different lights from the edge to the left, rather than a refraction, but the feeling is as of refraction through a prism, and it's a very nice shot. Well done, hope you do well.

Great colors, but I don't think this shows refraction very well. It is hard to tell if this is a white star with refracted light shining on it, or a multi-colored star. If the shot were taken from further back, and another item was in the background with the same lighting it would be much more dramatic.

It seems to be only a multiple light source shot, not refraction at all.
