Chip Off The Old Blockby focusComment: I think I like this but I'm wondering exactly HOW you got this effect without use of filters or special effects? Mirrors, maybe? I find it hard on the eyes, but makes me keep looking to try to figure it out. |

pencil distortionby shutterflyComment: An interesting picture, but I don't like to see the name of the challenge used in the title. I'm not exactly sure what you've done to get this effect, and it's kind of hard on the eyes, but it makes you LOOK! Good balance, light and color. |

New Morning...by fsieradzkiComment: I don't like to see the name of the challenge (new) used in the title... too cliche or something. There are lots of other, more creative ways to express it. Nice picture but a bit too much haze in the background, mutes the rich colors of the canyon. I like the way the trees frame the photo, but think I would have cropped the sky out above the rocks. |

Splurge!by GraciousComment: I like this lots... right down to the red toenails for a spot of color in the picture. This is the best of the "new shoes" pictures in the challenge. You should sell it for advertizing. |

New House on the blockby Frank BeckmanComment: I like this photo, although I really don't like to see the challenge name (new) used in the title... too cliche. Get out your thesaurus and crank up your imagination. Photo is really great. |

My New Neighborhoodby GuillermoComment: I don't like to see the name of the challenge (new) used in the title... too cliche or something. There are lots of other, more creative ways to express it. Kind of depressing... when I drive through cities and see row after row of new homes all with the same lines, that look like the same floor plans, I'm glad I live in the country in an order home when there was more "uinqueness" built into each house. This photo gives me a feeling of claustrophobia. |

Morning Harvestby puppet10Comment: A still life study of vegetables... a creative thought no one else had. While I don't usually enjoy still life photos, I do like this one. I love the use of <morning?> light coming in the windoes in the background. would it have been possible to lighten the vegetable backet to give more clarity, without making the background too light? I imagine you probably tried many different takes and submitted the one you liked best. I've found that what I think is best, is often different than someone else's opinion. |

Brand New Dayby marvinmartian79Comment: I don't like to see the name of the challenge (new) used in the title... too cliche or something. There are lots of other, more creative ways to express it. Like the picture lots though... I thought sunrises were a bit over done in this challenge, but yours stands out from the rest. If you got that effect without using filters on a Photoshop type program... GOOD for you... I', interested in knowing how you did it. |
